Obituary

Peter Mosher took his final breath December 7th, 2013 – 32 years of age. He left behind his beloved wife and partner of 15 years, Eileen (nee McGrath) and two beautiful children Adah and Eamon. He was cherished by his parents Kevin and Peggy, his brother Jeremy and sister Katie (Andrew Wright) and grandparents Mary and Roger Pierson. He will be so missed by the numerous members of his Pierson, Mosher, and McGrath-Seiffert families. Pete was a remarkable human who left this world a much better place and touched the lives of so many across this country and world in such a short time. His impression was left on so many in the St. Xavier, Saint Louis University, St. Clare, Mount St. Joseph, and College Hill communities. His students and colleagues admired and respected him. He excelled in all he did and the world will not be the same without him. The most important remembrance of Pete, though, is to register as a Organ Donor! Visitation will be at St. Clare Church (1443 Cedar Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224) on Friday, December 13th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:30am location is pending. Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

  1. As a former student of Pete's, I can't begin to tell how much he has influenced my life. He was always willing to put student's needs before his own, and was the most selfless person I have ever met. Words are not able to describe how much I valued Pete as a professor, mentor, role model, and overall an amazing human being. He will be missed dearly. He will forever live through his influence on me, and everyone he has met. He truly has made me a better person, and I thank his family for sharing him with us all. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Pete was such a genuine person. He was thoughtful, insightful, caring, eloquent with his words, and a leader. His influence is far reaching and I believe that his spirit will live through the people whose lives he touched. My deepest condolences following his passing. He will be sorely missed. My family is blanketing you in prayer and love. We will continue to do so in the days ahead as you walk through your grief.

  3. Many of us "know" Pete through his brother Jeremy, aka Coach Mosher for the St. Xavier High School Cross Country team. The current team is wearing dress shirts and ties to school today to honor Pete. He was a role model for cross country and for life. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  4. I cried my eyes out at Pete’s funeral. It didn’t hit me until I saw his coffin. And then his wife, then kids. Only then did I understand I’d never read his blog writing again. Or see him at a church function. And his strong wife is a widow.
Really, I didn’t know Pete that well, only a casual parish member relationship. But knowing he was 2 years my junior, went to my rival high school, raised in a similar area, and accomplished what most of us only wished we could say we’ve done. The young man lost was just amazing and an inspiration to live for more.
We are so sad you’re gone, but we're all much better off because of you Pete Mosher.
